...Partytime?

I sucked it up and went to a BTS French class on Thursday morning, because I thought, awkward 19 year old dietitian friends are better than no friends at all.

Let me explain. BTS is kind of like trade school in the US. It's a 2 year program after you've graduated high school, that generally takes place in the lycee (er, high school.) So my lycee has a dietitian program for students who are generally 18-20 years old. Yeah, my baby brother's age. Whatever.

So I went to their French class and wasn't covert about my intentions at all, the teacher literally introduced me as "The American who doesn't know anyone, please invite her to your raclette parties." And I was! I was invited to a party for last night (Friday) and I went and it was incredibly awkward.

Imagine 40 or so French girls who are all in the same class, AND their teachers, AND graduates of the program from last year. And me. Trying to make interesting conversation but failing because I can't think of how to say anything besides "How do you like Jonzac" in French. But some of the girls were nice, and 2 of them took my phone number, so maybe they'll call me and we'll become BFFs? It's possible, right? (?!?!?)

I'll go to said French class again in 2 weeks, see if I can creepily make anymore friends. We'll see. Otherwise, this week, I'm going to try the badminton club and yoga.

I already tried Judo and that was terrible and embarrassing. I think I'm about the least coordinated person I know. I had to practice a SIX step dance routine over 100 times this summer to make sure I didn't fuck it up. And I still did.

Pretty night sky

In other news I got PAID (!!) yesterday! And not just my usual 780 euros, but an extra 40, for my transportation costs to the Stage. Amazing.
