Almost time...

I have four nights left here in NY before I leave. FOUR. That's it! I'm not freaking out consciously, it's my subconscious that's getting to me, waking me up in the middle of the night, reminding me that despite how I may think of France, it really is a foreign country, with a different language, and customs and everything. And I'll be living alone. I think, weirdly, that's what scares me the most. I've never lived alone, and I don't like the idea of it. It just seems scary and loney! Especially in a town of 3,000 where most people will be way older or way younger than me.

Packing is going to be a nightmare. I'm sure most assistants have been packing for days by now, but I still haven't UNPACKED from college. Tomorrow and Friday will just have to be massive clean up days, I guess.

Anyway, four days. I wonder if I'll have internet in my apartment. The emails I've received from other teachers at the school have told me that I'll have my own, fully furnished and freshly renovated 'flat.' I find it funny that although the French word for apartment is indeed 'appartement,' they feel the need to translate it into British-English... But anyway, I'm hoping for internet, so Skype and online Scrabble are no problem!
